Marygold was nominated for the, "Best 2 Year Old" at the Epsom owners and trainers awards dinner at the end of 2011.

Our Summer campaign has got off to a flying start with PRINCE OF SORRENTO winning easily at WINDSOR and our filly MARYGOLD having her first win at BRIGHTON.

Our 2 year olds are showing great promise with HALLING DANCER coming an impressive 2nd on his first outing at the races and KINGS FUTURE showing great potential.

Mary's Pet - 7th March, Lingfield. Mary's Pet won, ridden by Simon Pearce. Simon gave the horse a fantastic ride, made all soon by two lengths clear. She remained untroubled and held on to win.

Chilli Green - 24th January, Kempton. Chilli Green won gamely under Dane O'Neil to the delight of the yard and her Breeder/Owner Peter Crane. John was also thrilled at the win for the filly he regards as being, "Beautiful with a lot of ability."

Wow what a great December so far for the Akehurst Yard !!!!!!!!!
